Marisa Cabal Cabeza
Marisa Cabal, born in Barcelona in 1984, studied contemporary dance at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona. In 2004, she moved to Brussels were she followed the studies at PARTS during four years. Since 2008, she works as a dancer and a choreographer in the field of the performing arts. She is one of the founding members of the artistic collective Busy Rocks, artist in residency at the Beursschouwburg theater in Brussels in 2011-2012. She has been involved in the creation of the dance pieces keeping busy keeping still, Dominos and Butterflies and Studium, together with the other members of Busy Rocks. She danced for Birdwatching, a piece by Benjamin Vandewalle, and collaborated with the theater company Zuidpool, based in Antwerp, in their last production, Salome Redux.
In 2012, she created together with Stav Yeini As It Fell, a piece that combines live video projection, sound and performance. The piece premiered at the Busy Rocks Takes Stage event at Beursschouwburg (Brussels). Later on, Workshop Foundation (Budapest, HU) offered a residency in the frame of the Jardin d'Europe Nework to continue working on As It Fell. Marisa Cabal and Stav Yeini have been selected as a Priority Company for the year 2013 by the Aerowaves Network.
