José Paulo dos Santos (Brazil, 1988) started dacing as a tap dancer in a social project in his hometown Araraquara-São Paulo and studied ballet and contemporary at The Dance Center Gilsamara Moura. He started his professional carrer in 2005 when he joined Cia Shuffle Trips where he worked until 2008 touring across Brazil and South America. He worked as a teacher and choreographer with local children from the social project EMDIN and at Casa PIPA with adults. In 2008 he was invited to IPL "International Laboratory Performance’’ in Peru to work with artists from South America and Europe directed by Khosro Adibi. In the same period he made a piece Inside Out directed by Khosro Adibi in Brazil-Belo Horizonte and later came to Brussels to join P.A.R.T.S for four years course. During the school he had the opportunity to teach kids at Dancing Kids, performed KDO directed by Franco Dragone (Cirque du Soleil) and had numerous dance classes and workshops. He created together with 3 others P.A.R.T.S graduating students 111-1, which toured around 7 different countries. After school he’ll work at Toneelhuis house in Antwerp with the theatre director Mokhallad Rasem and the reconstruction of the repertory Zeitung with Anne Tereza de Keersmaeker (2013).
