Cristian Duarte BR

Cristian Duarte is a choreographer, director and dancer who lives and works in São Paulo. His work as a choreographer is presented internationally and has been recognized by important dance awards in Brazil. His artistic practice involves the creation of shared work environments and experimentation in dance, such as the artistic residence Lote, which has been a fundamental cosmos for the continuity of his choreographic action.

Among his productions are: Ó (2016) Biomashup (2014), The Hot One Hundred Choreographers (2011), Médelei - Eu Sou Brasileiro (etc) e não existo nunca (2006) and Against the Current, Glow (2015) for the Cullberg Ballet in Stockholm, where he was also a guest teacher and choreographer at DOCH - University of Dance and Circus in 2013 and 2015. Trained in São Paulo with Estúdio e Cia Nova Dança between 1995 and 2000. Graduated in 2002 from P.A.R.T.S. (Performing Arts Research and Training Studios), school directed by Belgian choreographer Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker in Brussels. Co-created the dance research platforms Desaba with Thelma Bonavita and A piece ... together? with Paz Rojo.
