Biography Urtė Groblytė

Urtė Groblytė (1999) is a Lithuanian dancer, performer and maker. She started her dance education at the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, Lithuania. Directly afterward, she spent a year at the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen, Germany. Urtė completed her bachelor’s degree at P.A.R.T.S. in 2022 and continued with the MA STUDIOS program there. Her artistic interests flow through different mediums, often questioning the body’s limits and strength. At the moment, extreme metal music, growling, and movies dealing with body horror are her big inspirations.

Urtė has started a collaboration with Judith Dhondt, resulting in performative, writing, moving, and reading practice. Gathering around an interest in the body confronted with fiction but also playful, strange, and uncanny erotics, they move in and out of the language, in and out of the body. These are the motors of their collaboration and lay the basis for their graduation works.
