Dancing Dialogues

Dancing Dialogues is a series of conversations highlighting the work of P.A.R.T.S. teachers and their contributions to the school. In each session, alumni engage in conversation with teachers, exploring questions of pedagogy, artistic practice and the transmission of knowledge.

The series kicked off during the 164VANVOLXEM Festival with three sessions dedicated to theory, inclusivity and repertoire transmission. These were followed by conversations on teaching contemporary dance technique and Body Studies.

The upcoming Dancing Dialogue will focus on teaching composition.

How can we address the relationship between 'material' and 'composition'? How do composition and improvisation relate to each other? How can choreographic composition relate to composition in music or other art forms?
