Vacancy: Head of Creative Practice
In the process of restructuring of its academic department, P.A.R.T.S. has created a new position in the role of Head of Creative Practice. We are, therefore, looking for a new colleague to join the pedagogical team of the BA TRAINING for the aforementioned position.
Vacancy: Head of Creative Practice (m/f/x)
Job description & duties:
Your focus in the BA Training curriculum is to further develop and implement a vision on:
• the artistic assignments (currently a trio with live music in the first year, a solo in the second year, a group creation in the last year);
• the guidance of creative processes through feedback and coaching methods;
• the accompaniment of personal work of the students;
• diversity and inclusion in the curriculum and accompaniment of the diverse student body.
Your tasks:
• Regular follow up of the courses related to artistic practice, theatre, x-weeks, workshops with guest choreographers;
• Individual and group coachings of the students and align the guest coaches;
• Writing and overseeing the evaluations for the student creation courses;
• Follow up of curricular and extra-curricular presentations related to creation (informal showings, PARTS Presents, PARTS@work etc.);
• Making active links between the work of the students and the professional field, including guiding students in their choices for internships in the third year;
• Active participation in monthly pedagogical meetings and contribution to the evolution of the programme and finding solutions for the on-going open cases;
• Active participation in the biannual evaluation committees and the biannual pedagogical study days;
• Ensurance of follow up to the meetings with the academic / pedagogical coordinator and the tasks coming out of those meetings;
• Contribution to academic policies, documentation writing etc; as needed or requested.
Profile / Selection Criteria:
• You are a choreographer, dramaturge or dancer with minimum 5 years of experience with artistic creation in the performing arts field.
• You have already built up teaching experience in dance pedagogy and coaching.
• You have a good knowledge of the actual artistic developments in the dance field, both nationally and internationally.
• You have a solid and relevant network to base yourself on for the recruitment of coaches and guest teachers.
• You speak, read, write and understand English on a professional level (C1); Knowledge of other languages (NL, FR and/ or other languages) is a plus.
• You have excellent written and verbal social and communication skills.
• You use interpersonal skills effectively in relation to a variety of cultural and ethnic stakeholder groups.
• You are eager to work closely with different stakeholders and a wide array of student backgrounds.
• You enjoy supporting students and colleagues in their endeavours and have naturally a constructive and cooperative attitude.
• You enjoy working in a team virtually, hybrid and on location.
• You are flexible and are ready to work with a schedule that entails afternoons and evenings.
• You have MS Office experience and you are comfortable in using Google Apps platforms and Drive.
• Must have working rights in Belgium.
Desirable:
• An understanding of the higher education sector
• Having worked in an academic setting/ program development
• Coordination skills/experience with rehearsal direction
• Knowledge in music, theatre, multidisciplinary practices or willingness to engage in learning

• A part-time contract (40%) for 2,5 years, until June 2028, with the possibility of renewal after positive evaluation.
