Are you on the lookout for a residency space this Summer ?
For more than two decades P.A.R.T.S. & Rosas have been organising Summer Residencies (former Summer Studios), a well-established initiative within Brussels’ artistic community and beyond. Our goal is to offer free workspace and creative exchange opportunities within Brussels’ dynamic arts scene, supporting independent artists working in the performing arts. This way, we make maximum use of our facilities and share our studios with the broader artistic community.
What We Offer ?
> Residency period: July 14 – August 15. Artists may apply for part of or the entire residency period.
> Free studio space in professionally equipped dance studios, featuring a floating floor with marley, mirrors, and a sound system. Studios are available only on weekdays during the residency period, and are accessible to artists with limited mobility.
> Professional coaching: each resident can request two hours of feedback by coaches of P.A.R.T.S., Rosas and their associates.
> The opportunity to share your work in an informal showing at the end of your residency. SummerResidencies coincides with the P.A.R.T.S. SummerSchool, transforming the campus into a vibrant meeting place for the international dance community. If you like, you can combine both and sign up for SummerSchool and a residency.
Residents are responsible for arranging their own travel, accommodation, and visa. Additionally, they must cover any extra technical, organisational, or promotional support beyond the aforementioned.
Who Can Apply ?
We welcome applications from individual artists and collectives (18+) working in performing arts or cross-disciplinary fields. The residency can be used for:
> Artistic research and experimentation
> Development of a new project
> Continued development of an existing project and rehearsals
There is no obligation to present a final outcome—this residency is designed to offer time and space for artistic practice and process. Through our collaboration with our partner Platform K, we provide individual support for artists with disabilities and special needs and residents who are on the lookout for knowledge exchange on inclusivity.
How to Apply ?
To apply, complete the application form by April 30, 2025 - 23:00 CET (Brussels time).
Selected applicants will be notified during the first week of June. Selection is based on artistic quality, relevance and diversity of profiles.
