Chloe Chignell AU/BE
Chloe Chignell (AU, 1993) is an artist working across text, choreography and publishing. Her work explores language within a choreographic frame, approaching writing as body-building and engaging experimental translation practices. She has graduated from a.pass, P.A.R.T.S Research Cycle, and the VCA. In 2019 she co-founded rile* a bookshop and project space for publication and performance in Brussels with Sven Dehens. Her work has been presented across Europe and Australia including Tanz Quartier Wien, Beursschouwburg Brussels, Critical Path Sydney, Dancehouse Melbourne, NEXT Festival, Pavillon ADC Geneva, Batard Festival, Saal Biennale, Moving Words Norway, KAAP Bruges, Littérature etc. Paris, QL2 Canberra, and Venice Biennale of Dance. She has performed in the work of James Bachelor, Angela Goh, Ingrid Berger Myhre, Adriano Wilfert Jensen and Phoebe Berglund. She published The Complete Text Would Be Insufferable with uhbooks and has a forthcoming title with lesbianas concentradas. She teaches choreographic writing workshops internationally including: P.A.R.T.S., HZT, ISAAC, and VCA.
